If you like the water, we have boating, canoeing, jet-skiing, kayaking, rowing, sailing...and some of the best fishing on the Great Lakes. We have 54 holes of golf available at one public and two private Clubs. Learn to ride horseback at the Centennial Farm equestrian facility, or get your pilot's license at the Grosse Ile Municipal Airport. While at the airport, stop in next door and join to play tennis at the Grosse Ile Tennis Center, a year-round facility.
Want to learn some new skills? The Grosse Ile Recreation Department offers classes for ages from pre-K to Seniors - golf, swimming, aerobics, tae-kwon-do, yoga, even Zumba!
Our strong community-supported athletic Organizations will get your children involved in team sports early in life, and prepare them for the next level.
You can walk, jog, run or bicycle to all of these in a safe environment connected by an expanding collection of bike and walking paths.
Our Schools offer the broadest range of interscholastic and club sports imaginable, including equestrian, golf, lacrosse, and rowing.

The club offers horse-related educational and recreational opportunities for area residents of all ages, while increasing awareness of and participation in local equestrian programs.
We work in cooperation with the Grosse Ile Equestrian Center operator and the GI Recreation department in stewardship of the equestrian facilities at Centennial Farm.
GI Lacrosse facilitates the development and expansion of lacrosse Programs on Grosse Ile.
Programs begin at the middle school level, with varsity and junior varsity Teams fielded for competition in the metropolitan Detroit area.
Formed in 1989, Grosse Ile Rowings' objective is to promote and develop the sport of rowing on Grosse Ile. We provide financial and organizational support for the Grosse Ile High School Rowing Program. Our teams compete against Programs in Michigan, Ohio and Ontario with great success; many of our athletes have received scholarships to compete at the collegiate level.
